1- Know the difference between nofollow and dofollow

As I said in the off-page optimization guide, that the links must be “dofollow,” so that the backlink will be counted. So, what is “nofollow” and “dofollow?”

When you add a “nofollow” command to the hyperlink, you tell Google not to follow that site. Thus, you must try to make your backlinks dofollow, and make the links that don’t have any importance nofollow (e.g. comments).

To add a no follow for a single link add the code which is in yellow to the Url html:

<a href=http://www.tostartblogging.com/on-page-optimization target=”_blank” rel=’nofollow’>on page optimization</a>

Dofollow is the opposite of nofollow, and to make a link dofollow, just remove the nofollow tag.

2- Keyword and tag stuffing

You must avoid this as much as possible. Keyword stuffing is the use of keywords in mass number, as in the following image.

As you see, white is repeated a lot and by this you tell search engines to rank you for this keyword. Since “white” is a very common keyword, that is why search engines don’t love it; they only love quality.

3- Don’t hide text

This is just as bad as the above method. You write more and more keywords, but you make its color the same as the background, so that visitors are not annoyed. The only real advantage is that you don’t annoy your reader. However, Google also hates text-hiding, so don’t do it.

4- Cloaking

This is another thing that Google hates, and it’s explained in the image below.

5- Avoid other black-hat methods

The above approaches are some of the black hat methods, so I won’t say them all. Still, avoid them all, and try to be safe and go with white-hat methods.
